Welcome to Newton Abbot Art Group

Formed on 1973, NAAG is a friendly local art club whose aim is to support and encourage individual development in the practice of art in a variety of media. Everyone is welcome to join our group, irrespective of age, ability and experience. Whether you are a complete beginner, an improver or have many years of practice, there are always new and exciting challenges in the world of art.

Our weekly studio sessions held on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings provide an opportunity to get together and practice art, being both social and learning occasions.  During the summer and autumn months, we also hold regular outdoor sketching days. We also hold four to five all-day Saturday workshops during the year, lead by local artists covering a variety of media.

We usually hold at least one Art Exhibition a year, possibly two. We held our 2023 Summer Exhibition at Newton Abbot Library, Newton Abbot, when we exhibited over 90 paintings by 25 member artists, and we held an Autumn exhibition at the newly refurbished TAAG in Teignmouth at the end of October.  In 2024 we shall again be holding two exhibitions, the first in Newton's Place, Newton Abbot from 18th May to 1st June, and the second at TAAG, Teignmouth from 5th to 11th October.
